It’s that time of year again—yes, the April showers are coming in strong, but let’s be real: the beautiful blooms are either already here or just around the corner. If you're looking for a little springtime magic, here are some of my favorite spots to soak in all the floral goodness:

🌸 University of Washington Quad

The cherry blossoms here are legendary. Strolling through the quad, with the soft pink petals fluttering around you and the gothic-style buildings as your backdrop, feels like something out of a dream. If you're lucky enough to catch them at peak bloom, it’s truly magical.

🌷 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Always dreamed of wandering the tulip fields in Amsterdam? You don’t have to fly across the world—just hop in the car and head to Skagit Valley. Rows and rows of vibrant tulips, picturesque backdrops, and a fun day trip adventure? Yes, please. The festival runs through April and is a Pacific Northwest must.

💙 Weyerhaeuser Rhododendron Garden (Federal Way)

Ever heard of a blue poppy? This rare and unique flower makes an appearance here in mid-May, and it’s worth the wait. The garden itself is also a serene haven full of rhododendrons, azaleas, and even a lovely bonsai collection. A peaceful, lesser-known gem.

🌳 Washington Park Arboretum & Japanese Garden

If you’d rather stay closer to the city, the arboretum is always a good idea. There’s always something blooming—magnolias, camellias, and all sorts of hidden floral treasures. The Japanese Garden is especially peaceful this time of year and perfect for a quiet afternoon stroll.

So don’t let the rain keep you indoors—grab your umbrella, maybe some rain boots, and go find the blooms. Spring is showing off, and you don’t want to miss it.
